‘Arte da Fuga’, de Johann Sebastian Bach
No Dia Europeu da Música Antiga, que simultaneamente assinala o aniversário do nascimento de Johann Sebastian Bach [21 Março 1685 – 28 Julho 1750], a última peça do álbum Lemniscate – Bach: The Art of Fugue (Outhere Music, 2023), interpretado pelo agrupamento New Collegium, com direcção artística do cravista brasileiro Claudio Ribeiro.
One of the fascinating things about the Art of Fugue is the final piece. It’s a triple fugue and after the three sections Bach superimposes the three themes and finishes it with a circulating motive, as a Lemniscate, and perhaps that’s a sugestion that the Art of Fugue is a never ending art. – Claudio Ribeiro
